Making Every Contact Count – NHS North West E-Learning

Making Every Contact Count – NHS North West E-Learning programme was aimed at all frontline NHS Staff working across the North West, it was designed and developed to provide information and advice regarding key lifestyle areas including alcohol, smoking, healthy weight, healthy eating, physical activity, sexual health and mental health and wellbeing.

The purpose of the e-learning programme is to enable staff to offer brief, opportunistic lifestyle advice (health chats) on a range of key lifestyle issues. The skills can be used to initiate conversations on the wider social determinants of health such as housing, education and fuel poverty.

Participants who complete the e-learning programme will have increased knowledge of local health issues, feel more confident to initiate health chats, refer appropriately to lifestyle support services, and will gain a greater understanding of their role as a health champion.

To date over 1800 frontline NHS Staff have participated in the programme.
