Who we are

Health equality matters- which is why the Health Equalities Group exists. Established over 10 years ago, we are a social enterprise that delivers practical, evidence-based, programmes and interventions that seek to tackle the root causes of health inequalities.

With specialisms in tobacco control, diet and nutrition and physical activity we are adept at designing and delivering applied public health products that help you to improve the health of your local community. Take a look at our 'Projects' page for some examples of our work.

Where we work

Since our inception we've quickly established a portfolio of work at a local, regional, national and European level. Working with local authorities through to the European Commission we are well-equipped to design and deliver public health interventions at any level. Collaboration is key to success, and our national and European links mean that we have a large bank of contacts that we can call upon to strengthen our work. Take a look at our 'Settings' page to view some of the areas in which we can, and have, worked.

Skills, experience and subject knowledge

The innovative structure of the organisation allows us to draw on a team with considerable skills, experience and subject knowledge of the key risk factors for non-communicable diseases. Having both a charity and community interest companies within the group provides maximum flexibility for both public health advocacy and service delivery. Find out more about who you'll be working with at our 'Team' page.

Investing in supporting and sustaining healthier lifestyles

As a social enterprise we work for more than profit, with positive social change at the core of all of our work. All of our surpluses are reinvested back into our charity, Heart of Mersey, which advocates for public policy and legislation that are essential for supporting and sustaining healthy lifestyles.
